Greetings Colleagues!

GAFN members, multidisciplinary collaborators, and esteemed guests, I would like to personally invite you to join us in Richmond Hill at our 2020 Annual Conference in February. For nearly 17 years, I have proudly called Richmond Hill “home.” It is where I live, where I work, and where I have raised my two sons, and I welcome each of you to my beautiful town! I sincerely look forward to spending time with old friends and colleagues and meeting new ones from across our state and beyond as we embark on this exciting learning opportunity together in coastal Georgia!

Forensic nursing is an exciting area in which to work and study. The GAFN 2020 conference will be filled with many inspiring, intense, and important topics that impact our everyday practice as forensic nurses. In our efforts to provide you with the latest research and insights to multiple areas of forensic nursing practice, our planning committee has been working hard to recruit outstanding speakers who are true experts in their fields.

Located just south of Savannah, Richmond Hill is a beautiful, coastal city and home to the Ford Plantation, Fort McAllister, and the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival. Enjoy some down time at a river-front spot with some friends, take an early morning stroll on the walking path at J.F. Gregory Park, or venture into historic downtown Savannah for an evening of fun while you are here!

GAFN believes in bringing inspired people together to improve the lives of those we serve. Our members are passionate about the work we do, and we love sharing ideas and information. We hope you will take advantage of the rich networking opportunities afforded to attendees of this year’s conference!

Finally, I want to thank the Conference Planning Committee, the GAFN Board of Directors, those who submitted abstracts and posters, and our sponsors. Your extraordinary efforts to orchestrate this amazing event are evident and appreciated!

I look forward to seeing you in “The Hill” in February 2020!
